America250 Lecture: The Civil War & Quilt Show

The America 250 theme for May is the Civil War. The lecture, “The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” will be held Wednesday, May 6th, and will be delivered by Vince Brown, Instructor and Director of the Utah Tech Institute of Politics. Learn about President Lincoln’s “Team of Rivals” that he created within his own cabinet.

Along with his lecture, several “Underground Railroad” quilts will be on display. The quilts contain coded messages embedded in quilt patterns, used by enslaved people in the 19th century to navigate secret routes to freedom. The quilts will be displayed at the Town Hall all day from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm.
